Seeing that Lip-Service is ghoulish enough to be giving away Alice Cooper concert tickets (Check out the Lip Service Events Calendar or the Official Alice Cooper Tour Terror page for more details and show dates!) it is imperative that we go over Alice’s filmography this month and check out some of the amazing flicks he has shined in! Not only just a mere rockstar is he, but a true creep on your t.v. as well. But you should all know this by now.

Alice has been “Feeding your Frankenstein” for movie addiction since 1970 when the original Alice Cooper Band had a cameo appearance performing at a loft party in the “Diary of a Mad Housewife.” Your eyeballs must feast upon his concert/feature film’s, episode guest star action, TV specials, documentary and feature films. Here’s the rundown.

1974: “Good to See You Again.” A movie slash concert. Great footage from the “Billion Dollar Baby” tour!!! I stole this one from Danny Smash’s collection. (He’s my bass player.) He’ll never know cuz he never reads my shit. That fucker! Hey Danny. What do you call a guy that hangs out with musicians? A bass player. I joke, I kid..

1975: “Alice Cooper: The Nightmare.”  It was a concept television special with the music of the Welcome To My Nightmare album. (Had this on VHS. It had one of those puffy ass cases that was the size of a pillow. Vincent Prince is in this too!)

1976: “Welcome to My Nightmare.” Purely horror-themed concert chaos!

1977: “Alice Cooper and Friends.” A live TV music special (Damn, old television rules!) This was the first night of Cooper’s “King of the Silver Screen” tour, in support of his album Lace and Whiskey.

1978: “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” In this oddball but cool film filled with the best drugged out era rock stars ever, Alice plays “Father Sun.” That same year Alice hit up The Muppet Show! Youtube it. NOW!

1979: “The Strange Case of Alice Cooper.”  concert footage from the “Madhouse Rock” Tour in support of the album “From The Inside.”

1980: “Roadie.” The film has Meat Loaf in it. (Not that kinda Loaf! The rock star “Meat!”) There are also cameo appearances by musicians such as Roy Orbison, Hank Williams Jr., Blondie and the Coop.

1982: “Alice Cooper a Paris.” Commonly known as Alice in Paris but it’s a French television thing.. What can ya do?

1985: “Monster Dog.” Holy shit! It’s a monster… dog. “Identity Crisis” is the main tune.”Classic flick!

1987: “Alice Cooper: The Nightmare Returns.”
The concert was filmed live in Detroit, Michigan, USA on Halloween! And that same year he played the possessed demonic killing street bum zombie that looked exactly like him self without stage clothes on that stabs a dude with a tireless bicycle in John Carpenter’s under rated bad ass of a movie “Prince of Darkness.”

1988: “The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years.” Highlights for me in that documentation are Alice, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and fuckin’ Lemmy.

1990: “Alice Cooper Trashes the World.” The concert was filmed in Birmingham, England. Awesome cod piece!

1991: “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.” Alice is Mr. Underwood. Iggy Pop sings the theme music.

1992: “Wayne’s World.” We are definitely “Not worthy.”

1995: ” Something Wilder – “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper” and  “Space Ghost Coast to Coast – Girlie Show.”

1997: “A Fistful of Alice.” TV Special.

2000: “Alice Cooper: Brutally Live.” Concert goods.

2001: “That ’70s Show – “Radio Daze” episode: Alice Cooper made a mid-show cameo where he is in Eric Forman’s dream, and a cameo in the end credits where he is playing Dungeons and Dragons. And “The Attic Expeditions” feature film.

2005: “Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey.” Cool documentary.

2006: ” Monk – “Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike” episode: Alice Cooper appeared as a murder suspect in a fantasy sequence. And Alice Cooper: Live at Montreux concert video.

2009:
“Suck.” A movie about vamps.. That are rockers.

2010: “Horrorween” Horror comedy starring f/x master Tom Savini about a group of people hunting Zombies. Horrorween is a homage to John Carpenter’s classic Halloween.

2012: “Dark Shadows” A new film based on the 1966–1971 gothic horror soap opera of the same name. The film is directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire. Alice completely rocks the party!

Whew! You have a lot of shit to watch before one of you lucky cretins win those tickets!!!! So even away from music, Cooper is a film actor, a golfing celebrity, a restaurateur and, a popular radio DJ with his classic rock show “Nights with Alice Cooper” and he was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Wow! I better get busy if I wanna keep up with the COOP! Some of the above Alice stuff I recommended still isn’t on DVD so you will have to dig deep if yer a real Cooper junkie like me.
DO NOT FORGET TO KEEP GLUED TO LIP SERVICE WEBZINE TO FIND OUT IF YOU WON COOPER TICKETS!!!

As for me, I’ve been in the New York City Groove for the last month enjoying the “Big Apple” for all the right reasons. Gettin’ geared up for summer time shows, festivals and song writing with my ever-so-scatter-around-the-world band, The Last Vegas. I still don’t know how we balance all this shit when we’re always in different parts of the planet at times, but that’s our style. Everywhere all at once. Life is good.

XO
